BirchBox

The next box I decided to try was BirchBox, which I have heard good and bad things about. I repeat it is my first box with them. I am not an affiliate for them or any of that jazz. Though they do have an affiliate program which is free to join and apply for. Not sure I would want to do that though.

I was happy to see that they have a loyalty program. I loveeee loyalty programs with subscription boxes!

So for every dollar you spend on a box or in their store you will get 1 point. Every 10 points you get is worth 1 dollar. You can use these points toward your subscription boxes or in their store. After you have recieved a certain amount of points you will be upgraded to a VIP member.

Once you are a VIP member that changes to 1.3 points earned per dollar spent. It also means free standard shipping on all orders and if that order is over $100 it’ll be free two day shipping. The VIP program is also $10 subscription boxes instead of $15. (That’s a much better price for the amount you get IMO) They also get exclusive promotions and surprises.

Now if you are like me the first thing you are thinking is “Okay, cool, how many points do you have to get to get that?” Well, I’m glad you asked. It takes a big 300 points. Meaning you have to spend $300 to unlock it. Unless…you refer friends. You get 100 points for each friend you refer who signs up to try the box. So yes, you’ll be getting a link 😂🙈 DISCOUNT!

Enough of all the deets. Time to show you my box 😂🤗

I would happily spend 10 dollars a month for these samples. 15…I’m not so sure. I’m kind of cheap 🙈😂
Now I do enjoy this. Super cute thing of tips come with your box every month. These are a blessing for women like me that don’t know what they are doing 200% of the time. 😂🤣
Here’s a break down of what each of those samples cost full sized and what exactly they are.

Look, I am going to be perfectly honest with you here. I love samples, I love trying new things, I love tips, but I’m still not sure that I love this box subscription. I think we will give it another month to be sure, but I definitely won’t be applying to be an affiliate.

I’m not sure why, but I feel like this months boxes are all geared towards skin/hair care. 🙈 Yes, it had one lip balm but I was kinda excited to try some new colors. Not really the subscription box’s fault that is just what I was apparently in the mood for. I’m feeling underwhelmed. Maybe after I’ve tried them all that will change.

How about you? Have you tried Birchbox? If so did you like or dislike it? Why?

  1. I was subscribed to Birchbox for a while, but I felt like not enough of the items they sent were really relevant to me and my lifestyle. I loved the detangler (the one you got) and a few other items, but they mostly went unused. I also found that the tinted sunblock was WAY too dark and looked very orange on my skin.

    1. 🙈 I hope that doesnt end up the case with mine. So far its looked fine with my skintone but it’s so small it will not last long lol.
