Happy Holidays!

I had my mother go on a run to her local discount/used book store and snag me some classics. šŸ™ˆ Managed to snag something else I had been dying to read as well.

Can you guess?

Then I managed to get some books from my darling husband for Christmas. I actually bought one of them for my mom too šŸ™ˆ

I haven’t been reading as much as I would have hoped. It has been so crazy lately that I haven’t really had much time for anything. Until now. The kiddo is away on vacation and I am on school break. (Another two A’s šŸ˜…šŸ˜) So my posting should regulate again especially since I FINALLY have an automatic spam filter.

I did fly through some smaller books recently. I didn’t really have the time to stop and talk about them, but I enjoyed them all the same.

I am the Night by Karpov Kinrade was the next installment in the Night Firm series. I still do not know how I feel about it. I am very conflicted. I hate it but I also enjoyed it. So I can go either way šŸ¤£šŸ™ˆ

I love DeRosa, but I felt the same with this book. I don’t know if it is just because it is the end or what. I just still feel like I have a lot of unanswered questions. Although I was pleased to discover that she is coming back to this world again with another spin off. So, I will be patiently counting down the days until then.

I actually rated this one higher. I feel like I have been stuck giving everything three stars lately. Nothing has really been “wowing” me.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this. Especially since I attempted it on my phone first. I was zooming in to try and read the font because it was so small until I finally swapped over to the tablet to finish it. It ended too quick. I wanted to read more and I don’t believe there’s any better praise than that. Except maybe wanting to read it immediately again, which I wasn’t quite there yet.

It was an interesting contrast to the characters we all know and love. Even the Hardy Boys were present! I can see how it wouldn’t be for everyone, but I always love a good Nancy Drew story.

I tried YA-OTM on top of my BOTM for December just because they had a few books I wanted. I probably won’t keep it though. Still haven’t gotten the chance to pick any of them up to read. Too many subscriptions at the moment. Probably going to do a purge and see what stays/goes.

There was no TBR pile this month. I just aimlessly read and I didn’t touch a single print copy. Hopefully I can squeeze at least one more in before the end of the month/year. I hit my goodreads goal twice (increased after I passed it) so I am still happy.

What have you been up to?
